To begin, four of Sterlington Martial Arts Academy’s youngest competitors competed in the American Grappling Federation Tournament in Conway, Arkansas this past weekend!
It was the first jiu jitsu tournament for all four of our young competitors. Four of Sterlington Martial Arts Academy’s youngest students walked away with six medals.
Successful people do not give up.
It takes an incredible amount of courage, drive, focus, and discipline to prepare for and compete, and the SMAA Family would like to congratulate ALL of our students who challenge themselves to do so! It is important for us to teach our students that at the end of the day, competing is about so much more than earning medals on the podium. And while earning a medal for their efforts is always a wonderful keepsake, we ultimately hope that they reflect on how all of their hard work, time, and energy spent dedicating themselves to their training, contributes to the pride that they should all take in their accomplishments, regardless of where they place! Competing can be difficult for many adults, let alone children, so we are happy and proud of each and every one of you for challenging yourselves when you do!
